29 August to 01 September, 2024,

Om Shanti Dham Ashram, Ramanagara (Dist), Karnataka

The idea behind this retreat stemmed from the fact that most of our participants over the years have been involved in the field of education and have been experimenting with alternatives—seeking ways to "step-- out" of the physical and mental violence embedded in modern systems. Many of them have regularly shared their experiences and the challenges they face in their personal and organizational efforts to pursue these alternative paths.

Our journey toward alternative ways of living often begin with a deep discomfort with the mainstream. However, as we venture along these new paths, we inevitably encounter new challenges. At times, the intentions that inspired us seem distant, the journey exhausting, and we may even feel the weight of living an inauthentic life, questioning whether ‘stepping out’ was the right decision. These are profound and complex issues with no easy answers. Creating a stable and grounded space for oneself in a rapidly changing world requires clarity, patience, and skill.

Having a retreat centered around these issues proved to be highly useful and engaging for all the participants.
