Narayan Ashram, Dharchula, Phithoragarh, Uttarakhand
29 April to 07 May, 2024,
SIDH has organizing a longish retreat in yet another sacred place of Bharat. We have been fortunate to get space at the Narayan Ashram situated at a height of 2734 m or 9000 ft above sea level, established more than 87 years ago in the lap of Himalayas by the great sage from Karnataka, Narayan Swami. We believe the space, the location, its surroundings, its history and its energy play an important part in the unfolding of the samvaad among the retreat participants. Therefore our endeavor has always been to choose the venue very carefully.
We invited people who have been co-travellers to come together as co-learners in this journey of self-discovery and cleansing of drishti. It was contemplative dialogue, slow, meditative with gaps of spontaneous meditative silence. Each one was be equally responsible for the unfoldment and insights that happen individually and collectively. We used text – extracts from the writings of J. Krishnamurthy, Professor A.K. Saran, Anand Coomarswamy, Dharampal, and others only to help trigger something within – only to challenge our deep-seated (hidden) beliefs, connect the unconnected within us. We tried that Speaking and listening has to be in a self-reflective manner as far as possible
