Dharampalji was a Gandhian thinker whose scholarship and writing about Indian history, pieced together through a deep study of original British documents, has had a deep influence on SIDH. SIDH has published his collected works in 5 volumes.

Satya Narayana Goenka was an Indian teacher of vipassanā meditation. Born in Burma to an Indian business family, he moved to India in 1969 and started teaching meditation. He was awarded the Padma Bhushan by the Government of India in 2012.
